Since the mid-1990s, mass layoffs have shaken Argentine society. In parallel, local and then nationwide unemployment organizations emerged, drawing attention through blockades (piquetes). They quickly became leaders in social and political protest. One of them, the MTR, focused from the very beginning on building self-managed infrastructures and projects. This volume documents their experiences and struggles against the backdrop of Argentina's recent history.
