We want to say goodbye to a deceased loved one in a dignified manner and provide them with final services, but often we don't know how to do this, as we are in an emotional state of exception. This booklet encourages us to shape grief, farewell, and the time leading up to the burial in a meaningful way and from a Christian perspective. It contains central thoughts on the Christian belief that the deceased are connected to us. Following this, there are prayers, ideas for coping with grief until the burial and beyond, as well as explanations about the significance of the Requiem, the farewell at home, and the prayers and rosary for the deceased. This resource is well-suited as a gift from pastoral caregivers during visits to the bereaved.
