Fuzzy logic has recently become well-known, especially through Japanese products. Unlike classical logic, it is particularly well-suited for modeling verbally formulated knowledge and relationships on a digital computer, and for drawing conclusions or analyzing and controlling complex processes in various fields. The relevant influencing factors are understood as linguistic variables, and the relationships between input and output variables are formulated in the form of IF ... THEN ... rules. A significant application area lies in the control and regulation of technical systems (Fuzzy Control). Fuzzy technology enables the automation of processes that were previously inaccessible using classical methods. It provides an excellent empirical foundation.
