Since the mid-1990s, Delphi surveys have gained increasing importance in politics and business. They allow for the generation of sound assessments regarding inherently unclear issues – for example, the future of the internet. In a multi-stage, anonymous process, experts are asked for their evaluations, leading them to more informed judgments. This book serves as an introduction and a workbook for conducting Delphi surveys. The author provides guidance on the appropriate design of the four established types of surveys (aggregation of ideas, structuring a diffuse issue, qualification of expert opinions, and achieving consensus among experts).
