This volume presents a (re)encounter with a "collective, historical symbol" that critically questioned and sustainably changed many aspects of society, politics, science, and culture nearly five decades ago. By referencing the term and phenomenon of "68," it showcases memories and personal experiences of contemporary witnesses and reflects on the societal as well as higher education and scientific discourses. This reflection includes an analysis of the reciprocal effects between the "68ers" and the developmental trajectories of social work as a profession and discipline up to the present day, and it opens up perspectives on the development potentials of social work.
