In this book, Julia Kaup explores the reasons for the lack of representation of female leaders by developing a causal model. The study reveals that the cause of underrepresentation is rooted in a complex interplay of political, socio-cultural, as well as economic and organizational factors, making it significantly more multifaceted than previously assumed in existing research. The analysis of the development of female participation in the labor market also allows for the consideration of historically conditioned influences.
