Product details

Contrary to the prevailing trend of understanding upbringing as a static characteristic, Christoph Weber explicitly focuses on the connections between changes in parenting dimensions and changes in externalizing behavioral problems. Using data from the DJI Child Panel and employing Latent Difference Score and Latent Growth Curve models, he demonstrates that externalizing problems are declining in the examined age range (8-11 years). Supportive parenting promotes the decrease of behavioral problems, while coercive control hinders this decline. The effects of children's externalizing problems on parenting (Child Effects) are mediated by maternal warmth (love and trust).
