The transition from kindergarten to primary school presents a central challenge not only for children but also for parents. A successful entry into the education system is an important milestone for children and their families at this early stage of their educational biography. Current research findings show that the role of parents, especially from less educationally advantaged backgrounds, has a significant influence on the educational trajectory of children during this process. This study empirically accompanies parents in the transition process and highlights inhibiting and promoting factors in the interplay between family, kindergarten, and school through qualitative analyses.
