The special issue "Successful Management of Shared Services" from ZfbF summarizes the results of the working group "Shared Services" of the Schmalenbach Society, which have been developed over the five years since the group's establishment. In addition to a fundamental systematization of Shared Services, numerous examples illustrate how leading German companies utilize this organizational form to enhance their competitiveness. The special issue is divided into three parts. Part I begins with an overview of the relevance and central characteristics of the Shared Service concept. It then explains the constitutive decisions that are significant for the successful implementation of Shared Services in practice. Part II presents process standardization, service quality, and customer satisfaction measurement as important success factors in the value creation system.
