Marc-Philipp Hasenmüller focuses on the implementation of sustainability at the corporate level, specifically within large companies. Sustainability managers often report obstacles, barriers, and persistent resistance when it comes to implementing ecological and social aspects. This work examines to what extent barriers to the implementation of sustainability management can be explained by strategic-organizational path dependencies. Only a thorough analysis of the underlying reproduction mechanisms of path dependencies provides the opportunity to break them or to create new, more sustainable paths, for example through sustainability-oriented entrepreneurship and sustainability innovations.
