Innovators have been proven and recognized as a crucial success factor for innovations. However, identifying innovators poses a significant challenge for many companies. Martina Mansfeld highlights essential personality traits of innovators and explains how the personality profiles of different innovator roles differ from one another. The author uses a data set of 190 questionnaires from employees in research-intensive industries. She derives recommendations for action for companies to identify innovators early and retain them in the long term.
