Patricia Stosic investigates the mediatization of scientific knowledge in this qualitative study. Over a period of twelve years, she reconstructs how and whether media communication utilizes (educational) scientific knowledge to address the issue of unequal educational success between children with and without a migration background. Building on research into knowledge utilization and considerations from the field of media and communication studies, the author theoretically refers to Niklas Luhmann's systems theory. This creates a methodological foundation for empirically determining media communications and their references to science.
