Due to electronic trading systems, capital market participants are provided with an increasingly extensive amount of information that is of better quality and available more quickly. As a result, the liquidity of DAX stocks is largely concentrated in Xetra. The dimension of recovery capability is important for determining market liquidity, as it takes into account both volatility and the time component. Christian Gärtner develops a calculation model for liquidity, with a particular focus on the recovery capability of the DAX-30 stocks. He tests this model using intraday data for the DAX-30 stocks from the complete trading year of 2003, calculating option values from the order book depth. This results in specific recovery capability values for each stock, which form the basis for profitable trading strategies.
