In discussions within the fields of business administration and electronic data processing, the term "MIS" (Management Information System) appears so frequently that one must be considered "outdated" if they do not participate in this trend, which is strongly promoted by IT and software producers. The trend has reached such a point that in the USA, skeptics have even coined the term "MIS-carriage." What, then, is the purpose of a book on the topic of MIS? The author, drawing on his many years of practical industry and management experience, has set out to place MIS within the framework of system analysis and the management process. It is primarily important to clarify the relationships between system analysis and information structure on one hand, and between information and decision structure on the other, in order to support a management process.
