In this book, Christina Schlegl illustrates the phases of the intercultural learning process and the development of personal identity through detailed case studies of German students. Using authentic examples, she presents the mechanisms of understanding the foreign in their various aspects. The author ultimately demonstrates how personal action strategies can emerge from the critical experiences of a group of German students in Cairo, Egypt.
