Religiosity before and after secularization or in and beyond Christianity and the Church will be investigated using representative population surveys in Germany between 1982 and 2012. Religiosity beyond Christianity and the Church is considered to be, on the one hand, the intensity of the religious question, i.e. the question of the origin and destination of world and life, and, on the other hand, attitudes to the religious question, i.e. religious insecurity and religious indifference. Two questions will be examined: How strongly are forms of religiousness beyond Christianity represented today and how are they connected with religiousness in Christianity and the Church? How have forms of religiosity in and beyond Christianity developed in recent decades?
