With this volume, we aim to make a work that has already become a classic accessible to the German-speaking world. The book provides a summary of the most significant literature on organizations and attempts to give an overview of the various organizational theories. The authors take on the task of explaining these theories, their significance, and their purpose, while also providing their own interpretation of the fundamental theories of human behavior in organizations. The book is divided into three main parts. The starting point is the consideration of the individual as an instrument and physiological automaton - a perspective typical of scientific management. Subsequently, the authors address motivational and affective aspects of human behavior in organizations, supporting their statements with extensive empirical data.
