In this book, Josef F. Haschke addresses the apparently crisis-ridden trust relationship between citizens and politicians by examining how political judgments of trust or distrust are formed and how they are structurally composed. To this end, the author integrates insights from social psychology, sociology, political science, and communication and media studies into a theoretical analysis model. The result of the empirical examination within the framework of a qualitative interview study is a typology of political trust judgments: it reveals the everyday heterogeneity of trust in politicians across political milieus and relativizes the thesis of a comprehensive political trust crisis.
