Sabine Degenkolb-Weyers is engaged in the implementation of resilience development in healthcare professions. The aim is to enhance the psychological resilience of trainees to meet the demands of their therapeutic roles. Students are confronted with their own uncertainties during practical training in therapeutic health professions as novices in therapy, facing learning crises and stressful situations, while also dealing with patients' crises. The author investigates why some students manage to emerge stronger from these problematic situations, while others become mentally or physically ill and drop out of their studies. She outlines the specific requirements and competencies in therapeutic health professions and develops concepts for imparting professional skills.
