Florian Schimböck identifies screening and assessment tools for the systematic detection and recognition of delirium by nursing staff and compares them in terms of their psychometric properties. Overall, the author identifies seven instruments through literature research in databases and search engines and describes them. It becomes clear that there are already a variety of suitable screening and assessment tools that can be applied by nursing staff in daily practice. Therefore, the creation of new instruments is not necessarily required. Further testing and validation of the existing instruments is recommended.
