Health care is a complex, nonlinear process determined by numerous parameters such as legal, organizational, economic, informational, religious, and cultural factors, as well as various actors including physicians, patients, health insurers, and clinics. Traditional management methods and hierarchies often work against this systemic view. A modern, comprehensive healthcare system relies on cooperation and communication among stakeholders. Mechanistic views and rigid process organizations must be replaced by a systemic whole that allows for many interactions and feedback loops and knows how to use them synergistically.
