In the past decade, I had the opportunity to get to know various institutions and universities as part of my studies and activities. This allowed me to experience and help shape different organizational structures and cultures, traditions within institutions, as well as their changes. I cannot forget the people I encountered there who influenced my future activities. My academic work has evolved in recent years, enriched by these diverse influences and experiences I have gathered. My engagement with the topic of all-day education and care, day schools, and schools with block schedule teaching originated at the end of an earlier research project at the University of Fribourg, during which I studied children affected by school failure.
