More than 1,000 photographers, over 16,500 images - figures that impressively demonstrate the esteem that the "European Nature Photographer of the Year" competition has gained among the continent's best nature photographers in recent years. Since the year 2000, the GDT (Society of German Nature Photographers) has awarded unique and innovative nature photographs from the cameras of European professional and amateur photographers in this competition. The competition encompasses eight categories - from mammals to landscapes, as well as the themes "Nature Studio" and "Human and Nature" - reflecting the vast spectrum of modern nature photography.
