When their fellow inmate Synapse Burns is released from prison due to memory loss, the Daltons try to escape from jail as well by pretending to have amnesia. However, their plan only partially succeeds - under the leadership of Governor Blunderer and Lucky Luke, they are to regain their memory through familiar situations such as bank heists, stagecoach robberies, and train hold-ups, so that they can be arrested again.
