Since the beginnings of German-language literature in the Middle Ages, poetry has been consistently present. Even if one does not think of popular forms ranging from children's rhymes to poetry slams: it still appeals to a large circle of readers today, with almost everyone knowing one or another poem by heart. Nevertheless, literature students sometimes doubt whether a methodically reflected and intersubjectively comprehensible poem analysis is even possible. This volume provides relief by conveying foundational knowledge in a compressed form and aims to introduce successfully applicable analytical techniques.
