In many communities, it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit parents as catechists for First Communion preparation. Pastoral caregivers and staff then face the task of taking the preparation into their own hands and helping parents and children, who often have little connection to church services, to understand the significance of these celebrations. To make this possible in a compact form, this book offers a compelling concept: it includes services leading up to First Communion, in which parents and children become familiar with central elements of the Eucharistic celebration and important expressions of faith.
