How free is our science? Shocking reality: a lecture hall "Aldi Süd", a Google-funded institute for internet and society at Humboldt University Berlin, chocolate-friendly scientific studies by a Mars professor of nutrition. The list of examples of how corporations influence universities and science grows longer almost daily. Is research at public universities serving the public good, or is it increasingly catering to one-sided profit interests? The flow of private funds into science has dramatically increased. However, large corporations are not charitable organizations. They pursue targeted interests through the use of capital. The aim is not to increase benefits for the general population, but rather the profits of corporate owners.
