After his bar in Bonn was blown up, McCorkle returned to the USA with his wife Fredl and reopened 'Mac's Place' in Washington. When his business partner Mike Padillo stumbles onto a ship with a knife wound, the dream of a quiet life evaporates: Fredl is kidnapped by agents from a South African country who demand that Padillo assassinate their Prime Minister, thereby strengthening the efforts for independence and preventing equality between blacks and whites.
