A young scientist is sent by his professor to a small town in the foothills of the Alps to investigate the mysterious drug excess of a group of teenagers. Dr. Melzer is only interested in this mission because it allows him to get close to Binabichl, the hometown of Amrei, his lost love, whom he has never gotten over.

Not only Melzer, but also his boss is playing his cards close to his chest. The professor is in cahoots with a high-ranking official from the MAD (Military Counterintelligence Service). For the two masterminds, Melzer, with his romantic connection to a genuine Binabichl girl, is the only outsider who can penetrate the central mystery of the village community: empathy.

Cautiously, Melzer approaches Binabichl, unaware that Amrei is also aware of his appearance. Amrei, not at all pleased, only wishes to put an end to this impossible love and wants to drive Melzer away as quickly as possible.
