From 1887 onwards, Simmel presented his first works, which already contained and touched on central themes that were later pursued, expanded, and deepened in his subsequent writings. Subjects that later made Simmel famous—such as sociology, money, value theory, culture, women, and aesthetics—can be found in the writings of 1887-1890 in their nascent form.
