The Association for Social Policy was founded in 1872. Among its founding members were Gustav von Schmoller and Lujo Brentano. In 1936, the association dissolved itself to preempt the National Socialists. The present work traces the history of the association up to the year 1932. It is more of a chronicle, as the author refrains from describing contemporary events in the environment of the association. Bose divides his work into seven chapters, starting with the founding of the association. He particularly focuses on the meetings that took place in the various eras. An appendix contains some documents and lists from the association, such as the participant list from the founding meeting in Eisenach or two opening speeches by Schmoller from the years 1890 and 1897.
