In sand play therapy, clients create scenes in sandboxes that can serve as a starting point for stories. In the classical form of this therapy, which is based on the work of Dora Kalff, the sand images remain in place after they are created. Throughout the therapy, a series of sand images emerges, reflecting the clients' developmental process. This process can be accelerated when combined with a narrative approach. Additionally, sand images allow for the exploration of themes that cannot be easily articulated in words. Wiltrud Brächter combines narrative play therapy with classical sand play therapy, developing a new form of systemic child therapy: narrative sand play therapy, which is oriented around and works with children's stories. Alongside the fundamentals and background, the author presents the methodological approach.
