Gestalt therapy is based on a humanistic view of humanity, emphasizing the fundamental unity of body, soul, and spirit, the existential interconnectedness of the individual with their environment and community, and the inherent "tendency towards good form" within humans. The goal and essential method of Gestalt therapy is to establish a more vibrant contact with oneself and others. Psychological and psychosomatic disorders are understood as blockages in contact. The therapy aims to resolve these blockages and thereby promote the development and integration of personality in its social and ecological context. The therapeutic approach is experiential, experimental, existential, and dialogical. Currently, Gestalt therapy is considered one of the most effective psychotherapeutic methods.
