The Scottish-French poet and thinker Kenneth White, who has received numerous awards in France and the UK, is hardly known in this country. Based on a West-East philosophy, he has developed a contemporary poetics that reinterprets Hölderlin's dictum of the 'poetic inhabiting of the world' under the concept of geopoetics. Claudia Grimm presents central terms and themes of White's work for the first time in German, complemented by autobiographical poems that illustrate his development and poetic methodology through their unique terminology.
