The way we communicate with each other has a significant impact on our quality of life. Unfortunately, we unconsciously turn this opportunity into its opposite every day: communication has become a source of illness. At work and at home, in school and in the media, we expend our energy on misunderstandings, justifications, and exhausting monologues, instead of listening to each other and sending clear, sincere messages that lead to understanding and support. The roots of this problem go back to our upbringing and education system: very few have learned how to engage in genuine conversations, take responsibility for our needs, and convey appreciation. Especially in the business world, we succumb to a system of carelessness, accusations, and injuries in our drive for self-assertion, which contradicts any healthy self-esteem.
