Janika Suck addresses a current issue: Despite a functioning healthcare system, socially disadvantaged families often struggle to adequately promote the health of their children. Numerous studies indicate a significant correlation between health and social background among adolescents. This raises the question of an ethically justified rationale for addressing existing socialization deficits. In this curricular context, educational institutions, particularly schools, are increasingly tasked with integrating strategies for sustainable health promotion into everyday school life. Against this backdrop, the author develops suggestions on how students can acquire competence-oriented, health-promoting behaviors.
