Ingrid Kaiser establishes systematic connections between social science and evolutionary biology approaches to violence in intimate relationships and parent-child relationships, taking into account the respective paradigmatic conditions. Using the biologically functional theory offer, she discusses the conditions under which violence arises in domestic relationships within an expanded theoretical framework and presents new approaches to explain previously contradictory empirical findings. Against this backdrop, innovative impulses for the further development of intervention and prevention approaches are highlighted.
