In the numerous reports and scientific papers on honor-related violence, the perspective of the victims is usually taken. Undoubtedly, this is useful and necessary, but honor-related violence also includes the other side. The side of those who have committed violence in the name of honor. Through qualitative interviews, this book aims to reconstruct the conservative views of Turkish men regarding gender roles, familial violence practices, and gender honor. It explores what men who commit violence in the name of honor understand by honor. What behaviors do they interpret as violations of honor, and how do they believe such violations should be punished? From the conversations with these men, insights can be drawn about what shapes their lives and where there is a need for preventive action.
