Eleven-year-old Fredi and his little brother Buz, who has just finished the first grade of elementary school, are spending their vacation at their grandparents' house. Their cousins Micky and Lise are also part of the fun. Micky, already fashion-conscious, tries her hand at making a dress, while Buz and Lise are up to nothing but mischief. Fredi narrates the wonderful vacation story from his perspective, sharing experiences of life with their grandparents and the adventures by the creek and in the woods.
