Competition projects and abandoned plans are prefigurations that inherently possess a provisional and sketch-like quality. In their suggestive representations, we find bold ideas, utopias, and the power of strong gestures. Therefore, we have decided to exclusively honor designs in this volume that are typically left to be forgotten.
