In the German book market, the Book of Creation has little presence, despite making a significant contribution to the understanding of the Bible and creation. This is sure to change in the coming years. Most translations into German date back to the 19th century and are grammatically questionable. In these translations, God, rather than man, is depicted as the acting principle. However, the grammatical form resembles the imperative, or command form, which indicates—based on Jewish understanding—that the Book of Creation is a meditative textbook. In the current book, the imperative translation has been chosen. This not only alters the content of the text but also changes the purpose of the Book of Creation. Giovanni Grippo.
