The foundling Gitty has been hiding in her uncle's private forest since birth. Together, they try to prevent the deforestation of the forest, receiving support from a talking animal: reborn as a chicken, the former mayor of the village reveals a hidden treasure and helps a pet shop flourish as a miracle chicken. Whether they can thwart the reckless plans of the current mayor depends on who speaks chicken language. Gitty has long grown weary of the seemingly adventurous life of a forest child: her artistic talent ignites a desire to become an acrobat and finally make something of her life.
