Product details
Dominik Pfeiffer is developing a new theoretical tool for analyzing the globalization of Transitional Justice, a socio-political process that emerged a few decades ago and has unfolded through its embedding in world culture. This has led not only to a significant normalization but also to a rationalization of the handling of massive violence and atrocities. The globalization of Transitional Justice should be understood as an ambivalent development that simultaneously provides too little and too much global justice: powerful states repeatedly evade accountability for macro-violence, while at the same time, in other places, processes of coming to terms with the past are significantly influenced by global norms and mechanisms.
