With Jesus in their midst and through the power of the Holy Spirit, they lived out what Jesus had previously taught and exemplified: to love God and one's neighbor as oneself. Today, genuine and deep relationships with individuals and within the community have become rare. We have either forgotten the art of building such relationships or are unwilling to bear the necessary costs. The consequence is that we do not reap the corresponding fruits, our testimony to the outside world is weak, and many in the congregations suffer from loneliness and superficial relationships. Brothers Wayne and Clay Jacobsen address this issue and examine the New Testament for key passages on fellowship. They explain what model for loving, encouraging, and authentic relationships we find there and illustrate with practical examples how we can achieve such relationships.
