Product details
One of the founding fathers of economic theory described economics as the principle of the greatest happiness. But what does economics have to do with happiness? Does it make us happy to search for a suitable means to satisfy every specific need from endless possibilities, investing a lot of time and effort? This work does not question that people weigh their options and choose the one that seems best to them. However, it describes the conditions and the limited scope of such choices based on utility calculation. By using the concept of subjective well-being, or happiness, economic actions can be related to the social environment, allowing economic actions to be viewed and assessed as actions (and not just their outcomes). If we understand how happiness is generated, we can also enjoy it better.
