Chief Inspector Artur Pestallozzi is called to his second case at Wolfgangsee. A young woman has been found dead next to the Christmas market, apparently a novice from the nearby convent. Her body shows signs of abuse and a feature that deeply disturbs forensic pathologist Lisa Kleinschmidt. The investigation is interrupted by a second murder, and fear of a serial killer begins to spread. Then a nun provides a clue that initially sounds completely unbelievable.
