Sweltering summer heat hangs over the city. It hasn't rained in weeks, and the people of the trading metropolis are becoming increasingly thin-skinned and irritable. As more and more Nuremberg residents fall ill with a mysterious fever, a horrifically mutilated corpse washes ashore on the banks of the Pegnitz. The dead man is missing not only his head and hands—he appears to have been expertly disemboweled. The people of Nuremberg are horrified. When a werewolf is allegedly sighted in the forests surrounding the city two nights later, panic spreads. Are demons on the loose?.
