Under the charred remains of a holiday home on Rügen, a body is discovered. The autopsy conducted by forensic pathologist Leona Pirell reveals that the deceased, Enoch Zwill, was murdered. Soon, his widow Berit comes under the investigators' scrutiny. The marriage was anything but harmonious, and violence was not uncommon. However, Leona does not believe in Berit Zwill's guilt and begins to investigate on her own. This puts her in deadly danger.
