In the beautiful Allgäu region, a brutal murder takes place. Jessica Grothe, a chief inspector from Hamburg who has just moved to the area, unwittingly becomes involved in the investigations of Kempten's chief inspector Florian Forster. He suspects a connection to a crime in the Hanseatic city. Jessica realizes far too late the lurking danger that she and her family are in. When chief inspector Forster also disappears without a trace, Jessica finds herself in a race against time for her life.
