The death of a journalist shakes up the editorial team of the Liestaler Tagblatt. Max Bollag is convinced that his colleague had to die because of an investigative piece. Together with a young intern, he sets out to find the perpetrator. They uncover a ring of ruthless fraudsters and delve into their web. Bollag gets closer to the truth and senses a big story. It is only later that he realizes he might have to pay for it with his life.
